Divorce and division of pension interests
When will a non-member spouse be entitled to receive a portion of the member spouse's pension interest?
Are there any tax implications when the non-member spouse receives his/her portion of the pension interest once the benefits become due and payable?
If a member and his spouse are divorced and the court order stipulates that the non-member spouse is entitled to a portion of the member spouse's pension interest, upon whom does the duty rest to provide the fund with a copy of the court order?
If a member's pension interest has been endorsed in terms of a divorce order, the member resigns from employment and wants to transfer the retirement fund benefit to a preservation fund, will the member still have the one and only withdrawal available after deduction of the non-member spouse portion?
